Youcan'tinstallRSAToncomputersthatarerunningHomeorStandardeditionsofWindows.YoucaninstallRSATonlyonProfessionalorEnterpriseeditionsoftheWindowsclientoperatingsystem.UnlessthedownloadpagespecificallystatesthatRSATappliestoabeta,preview,orotherprereleaseversionofWindows,youmustberunningafull(RTM)releaseoftheWindowsoperatingsystemtoinstallanduseRSAT.SomeusershavefoundwaysofmanuallycrackingorhackingtheRSATMSUtoinstallRSATonunsupportedreleasesoreditionsofWindows.ThisbehaviorisaviolationoftheWindowsend-userlicenseagreement.
InstallingRSATissimilartoinstallingAdminpak.msiinWindows2000-basedorWindowsXP-basedclientcomputers.However,there'sonemajordifference:inWindows7,thetoolsaren'tautomaticallyavailableafteryoudownloadandinstallRSAT.EnablethetoolsthatyouwanttousebyusingControlPanel.Toenablethetools,clickStart,clickControlPanel,clickProgramsandFeatures,andthenclickTurnWindowsfeaturesonoroff.
IntheRSATreleasesforWindows10,toolsareagainallenabledbydefault.YoucanopenTurnWindowsfeaturesonorofftodisabletoolsthatyoudon'twanttouseforWindows7.
ForRSATinWindows7,youmustenablethetoolsfortherolesandfeaturesthatyouwanttomanageafteryourunthedownloadedinstallationpackage.
